How to Install TWRP Custom Recovery on Xiaomi Redmi 3/Pro
As we know, MIUI Recovery has limited features but TWRP Recovery has everything. TWRP Recovery is a custom recovery that has many features such as installer, wipe, backup and restore userdata. Flashing a custom rom can be done easily.
TWRP recovery developed for different types of devices including Xiaomi Redmi 3/Pro. Just download and install TWRP for your device. Before we start installing TWRP Recovery, please make sure your bootloader is unlocked. I assume, your Xiaomi device is unlocked bootloader. Devices must diroot before install TWRP? Not necessary if installing via Windows PC. For more details please follow the steps below.
  1. Turn off Ido device. Ido is code name for Xiaomi Redmi 3 / Pro.
  2. Press Volume Down + Power keys to enter Fastboot Mode.
  3. Connect device to PC using USB Cable.
  4. Download TWRP Cofface v3.0 for Redmi 3 (Ido).
  5. Extract.
  6. Double click .bat file.
  7. Just press Enter Enter.
  8. Your device will be reboot into TWRP Recovery.
  9. Change languages TWRP interface.

Update TWRP Recovery for Redmi 3/Pro

TWRP v. is the latest version for Ido device. If you are updating firmwares, We recommend use the latest version of TWRP for your device. Sometimes, firmware updates for a device break compatibility. Here's how to update TWRP v3.0.0.0 to v3.0.2.0 via Fasboot.

  1. Download TWRP Cofface v3.0.2.0.
  2. Download Minimal ADB and Fastboot tool for Windows and install.
  3. Enable OEM Unlock and USB Debugging your device.
  4. Copy file twrp-3.0.2-0-ido.img to directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot.
  5. Launch the Minimal ADB dan Fastboot tool from the desktop icon or via shortcut.
  6. Turn Off Device and then press Power + Volume Down keys to enter Fasboot Mode.
  7. Type fastboot devices on Minimal ADB dan Fastboot command prompt screen and then press Enter.
  8. Type fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-0-ido.img and then press Enter.
  9. Type fasboot reboot.
  10. Press Power + Volume Up + Volume Down keys to enter TWRP Recovery Mode.
