How to Remove Samsung Pay From Home and Lock Screen

The Samsung Pay navigation button will appear bottom the home screen when you have finished updating to One UI 2.0 (Android 10). In my case, after updating the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 (SM-N960F) FOTA from N960FXXS4CSK2 to N960FXXU4DSLB. Finally, I learned that Samsung Pay is one of the additional apps planted on the Android Q package designed by OEM.

Samsung Pay is a digital wallet that connects all your payment cards into one container. You don't need to bother carrying lots of cards while shopping. Samsung Pay can be accessed quickly by swiping the hint card up from your phone screen.

How to Hide

If you are not happy with the location of the Samsung Pay button and want to hide, follow the steps below.

Remove Samsung Pay Quick Access Button From Home Screen
  1. Find and Open Samsung Pay app.
  2. Tap the three-line menu icon in the top left corner.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Quick Access.
  5. Press the button to Off to get rid of the Samsung Pay navigation button on the Lock Screen and Home Screen.
  6. The last step press the SET button.

How to Uninstall

Samsung Pay is the pre-installed app and the phone must be rooted to remove. It's wise to disable Samsung Pay rather than take root. A root failure can cause your phone to dead boot.

  1. Find and open Settings.
  2. Tap App.
  3. Find and tap Samsung Pay.
  4. Tap Memory Usage.
  5. Tap the three-dot in the top right corner.
  6. Tap Force Stop.

How to Stop Background Activity

The following steps are to stop all Samsung Pay background activity, the reason is to save battery.
  1. Find and open Settings.
  2. Tap App.
  3. Find and tap Samsung Pay.
  4. Tap Battery.
  5. Press the button to Off on Allow background activity.
